Juliana Stratton wins Democratic primary for Illinois Senate seat

Juliana Stratton won the Democratic primary for a U.S. Senate seat in Illinois. She ran a campaign that included strong criticism of President Donald Trump.

Stratton's victory came after a competitive primary and sets her up to run in the general election for the seat being vacated by a retiring senator. If she wins in November, she would become the sixth Black woman to serve as a U.S. senator.
