China and Malaysia call for the US to release Venezuela's Maduro

China and Malaysia have publicly called on the United States to immediately release Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The calls came after reports that Maduro was captured by US forces.

China also urged the US to stop attempts to topple the Venezuelan government and condemned the use of force. Separately, US Senator Marco Rubio warned Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodriguez that the country must make the 'right decision' or face more pressure.
