Five EU countries call for windfall tax on energy company profits

Five EU member states, including Germany and Italy, are urging the European Union to implement a windfall tax on energy companies. The proposal targets excess profits made by these firms during the current energy crisis. The finance ministers from these countries have formally called for the measure to be adopted at the EU level.
