Congress and DMK finalize seat-sharing deal for Tamil Nadu elections

The DMK and Congress parties have agreed on a seat-sharing arrangement for upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu. The deal gives Congress 28 seats in the state assembly and one seat in the Rajya Sabha, India's upper house of parliament.

The agreement came after weeks of negotiations, with the DMK initially offering 27 seats and setting a deadline for Congress to respond. Leaders from both sides, including Chidambaram and Stalin, were involved in the talks to finalize the pact.
