Trump and Xi meet in Beijing, Taiwan tensions simmer

US President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The meeting comes amid heightened tensions over Taiwan, with Xi warning Trump that mishandling the Taiwan issue could lead to conflict. Taiwan is concerned that Xi may pressure Trump to stop US arms sales to the island.

Trump struck a positive tone, calling for a "fantastic future" for US-China relations. He also said he did not need Xi's help on Iran. Meanwhile, a Chinese state media report featured an American YouTuber claiming Taiwan is part of China. Analysts say the summit's agenda includes trade, North Korea, and regional security.
