Kurdish-led fighters leave Aleppo after clashes and a ceasefire deal

The last fighters from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have left the city of Aleppo. This follows days of deadly clashes with Syrian government forces and the announcement of a ceasefire deal.

As part of the agreement, Syrian government forces reportedly evacuated around 400 SDF fighters and detained about 300 Kurdish individuals. The commander of the SDF has commented on the withdrawal, and questions are being raised about the future of a broader March agreement between the SDF and the Syrian government.
