Sri Lanka Marks May Day with Rallies and Events

On May 1, 2026, May Day was observed across Sri Lanka with multiple events. The NPP held a May Day rally, while the Socialist Alliance organized a May Day march. Celebrations also began in Nuwara Eliya, and workers remained active in Pettah despite the holiday. Vesak Day was separately observed in Kelaniya.
