At least eight India-flagged ships, primarily LPG tankers, have crossed the Strait of Hormuz since early March. One vessel, the Green Asha, was among them, and several were heading to Mumbai with cargoes like 46,000 metric tons of fuel.
Reports indicate these vessels used a 'new shipping route' to make the transit. Separately, India is set to receive crude oil from Iran under a U.S. sanctions waiver, which would be the first such shipment in seven years.
