Italy approves energy bill decree with tax changes and price separation

The Italian government, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has approved a decree on energy bills. The measures include a 2% increase in the IRAP regional tax for energy production companies and a separation of ETS carbon market costs from renewable energy prices. Meloni stated the decree will provide over €5 billion in benefits, including a €315 bonus for low-income families this year.
