US and Israel strike multiple oil sites in and near Tehran

The United States and Israel conducted military strikes against five oil-related sites in and around the Iranian capital, Tehran. An Iranian official confirmed the attacks, which reportedly killed four people and caused a toxic rain event from the burning facilities.

Separately, U.S. Central Command announced that a seventh American service member has been killed in the ongoing conflict with Iran. The strikes on the oil infrastructure mark a significant escalation in the hostilities.
