EU Parliament freezes trade deals and sends Mercosur pact to court

The European Parliament has frozen approval of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement and referred the pact to the EU's top court for review. This move creates significant uncertainty for the trade deal between the European Union and the South American Mercosur bloc. Separately, the EU has also frozen a trade deal with the United States due to threats from President Donald Trump regarding Greenland.
