Israel and Hezbollah exchange attacks along the Lebanon border

Israel and the Hezbollah militant group have exchanged a series of attacks across the Lebanon-Israel border. The Israeli military says it carried out airstrikes on gas stations in southern Lebanon, targeted Hezbollah operatives, and that over 700 Hezbollah fighters have been killed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is expanding a 'buffer zone' in Lebanon.

Hezbollah says it knocked out eight Israeli tanks and fired 120 rockets from areas near civilian neighborhoods, which Israel says amounts to using human shields. Lebanese state media reported that Israeli strikes killed nine people in southern Lebanon. The Israeli government has also authorized the military to call up to 400,000 reservists.
