Exclusive | Google and Blackstone to Create New AI Cloud Company

In the US technology sector on 19 May 2026, Google announced a run of AI products at its I/O 2026 conference and was reported to be creating a new AI cloud company with Blackstone. The Wall Street Journal reported that Google and Blackstone will create an AI cloud firm built on Google's in-house chips.

At I/O, Google introduced Gemini Spark, a 24/7 agentic assistant with Gmail integration, Gemini Omni, which turns images, audio and text into video, Antigravity 2.0, an Android CLI, new Android XR smart glasses and changes to Google Search that The Verge called its biggest ever. Google also announced tools for building Android apps and for deepfake detection.
