Authorities arrested a man with ammo and apparently monitoring security at Trump golf course near LA

In the United States, on 5 August 2026, authorities arrested an armed man at Trump's golf course near Los Angeles ahead of the president's visit. AP and NPR wrote that the man was carrying ammunition and was apparently monitoring security at the course. The visit was linked to a fundraiser, and Newsmax described the event as an RNC dinner.

Breitbart reported that the man allegedly had body armor and high-powered firearms at his residence, and The Washington Post wrote that he faces federal weapons charges. The New York Post reported that he filmed Trump's security, and that Trump reacted to the arrest.
