KBS World is the international service of the Korean Broadcasting System, based in Seoul, and it reports on Korea from a Korean perspective. In our feed South Korea comes first by a wide margin, followed by the United States, Iran, China and North Korea. Politics is about half of the output, with diplomacy the largest subject and economy second. Its headlines are respectful toward South Korea's government and President Lee and neutral toward the United States.
KBS World's headlines treat South Korea's President Lee respectfully and as an authoritative statesman throughout, and the country itself neutrally in the first months and favourably from early summer, in a supportive but restrained tone. The United States is covered neutrally and factually, with occasional distancing verbs. Donald Trump is neutral for most of the period, with two months of favourable, deal-focused framing. China and Xi Jinping are reported neutrally. The measurement works from the outlet's headlines toward countries and persons; it is not a rating of accuracy.
