Sudan
Sudan is a state in systemic collapse, with competing military authorities, no functioning civilian government and an economy that relies on humanitarian aid. It lies along the Red Sea and links the Horn of Africa, the Sahel and the Middle East, so its instability reaches its neighbours. The standing issue is the civil war between rival armed actors, with famine, mass displacement, weak humanitarian access and limited leverage for foreign mediators. This page follows Sudan's news, politics, economy and security month by month, with the standing conflicts explained.
