DR Congo
DR Congo is a vast country whose cobalt, copper and other critical minerals give it global weight, while its state reaches only part of its territory and security is split between state forces and armed groups. The conflict in the east, tied to competition over minerals and to cross-border armed group activity, shapes relations with its neighbours and keeps humanitarian needs acute. International missions and peace efforts have had mixed results. This page holds DR Congo's news, politics, economy and security, month by month, with the conflict in the east explained.
